Dr. Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, will address the opportunities for small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) in the growth and development of the Nigerian economy -- especially opportunities for trade and investment.
In addition, he will discuss the major initiatives he has developed to provide technical assistance to induce the banking sector to lend to SMEs.
Councilwoman Jannie L. Blackwell and Councilman David Oh will join us in welcoming Dr. Moghalu to Philadelphia.

Biography
Dr. Moghalu is the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in charge of Financial System Stability Directorate. He has led the execution of far-reaching reforms in Nigeria’s banking sector since his appointment to this position by the President of Nigeria in November 2009. Dr. Moghalu is a member of the Board of Directors, the Monetary Policy Committee, and the Committee of Governors of the CBN, and is a member of the National Economic Management Team appointed by the President of Nigeria to design and manage the country’s economic reform program under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank) and the Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC).
